IMMIGRANT VISA SERVICES

Immigrant visas are for foreign nationals who wish to enter the United States for permanent residence. There are many ways to obtain an immigrant visa. Below are some of the immigrant visa services our office assists with

I-140
Immigrant Petition for Alien Workers

Petition for noncitizen workers to become a permanent resident in the United States based on extraordinary ability, professional and skilled jobs, and religious workers.
* Please note that for some categories, labor certifications may be a prerequisite.

STEP 1

I-130
Petition for Alien Relative

U.S. citizens or Lawful Permanent Residents (LPRs) may file a petition on behalf an eligible relative who wishes to come or remain in the U.S. permanently and receive a green card.

I-130/I-140 Approval

Based on your category, you may be subject to wait times posted on the Visa Bulletin before moving to Step 2.

I-485
Adjustment of Status

Applicants, if eligible, may file an Adjustment of Status (AOS) application in the United States which will allow them to obtain a green card in the U.S. A lawyer can inform the applicant of their eligibility for filing an (AOS) application.

STEP 2

OR

Consular Processing (NVC)

Applicants may apply for an immigrant visa at a U.S. embassy/consulate abroad. Applicants submit required documents to the National Visa Center (NVC) which pre-screens the documents, and once the documents have been accepted are placed in line for an immigrant visa interview.

Work and Travel permit

Work and travel permits are issued to the applicant while the case is pending. Applicant may not depart the US until s/he is in receipt of the travel permit. Otherwise the case is abandoned and must start over

Immigrant Visa

Once obtaining an immigrant visa, the applicant must travel to the US within the validity of the visa. 

Green Card

Green card is mailed to the applicant.
